There are so many amazing spots tucked away on IOP for locals and visitors to enjoy. One of those places is the Isle of Palms Public Dock. At first glance, a public dock may not sound very exciting, but we encourage you to keep reading to discover why this city amenity is something you should check out!
Where is the IOP Public Dock?
The public dock is located at the Isle of Palms Marina at 50 41st Avenue, Isle of Palms, SC. Convenient to many of our IOP vacation rentals, the dock and marina are only a few minutes’ drive from your holiday home away from home.
What are the Hours of the Public Dock?
The Isle of Palms Public Dock is open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset.
What Can I Do at the Public Dock?
Docks are made for so much more than just tying up boats. Here is what you can expect when visiting the public docks:
- Kayak, Canoe, Paddleboard Launch
- Fishing
- Sit & Read a Book
- Visit with Friends
- Watch the Sunrise or Sunset
- Look at Local Wildlife (dolphins, seabirds, etc.)
- Community Meditation Group, Wednesdays at 8:00 am
Are There Any Rules at the Dock?
The city asks that people using the dock observe a few rules. Please respect the following rules to keep everyone safe and maintain a clean and well-working area.
- No Swimming
- No Littering (please use provided trash receptacles)
- Pet Must Be on a Leash
- Clean Up After Your Pets
- No Smoking
- No Consumption of Alcohol
Where Do I Park If I Want to Use the Dock?
General parking is available on-site at the Marina. Residents can use one of the 16 “resident-only” parking spaces next to the public restroom free of charge. If you arrive by golf cart, there are parking spaces located on 41st Avenue. Resident parking requires a city-issued “Resident Parking Permit” or a “Wild Dunes Resident Decal.”
We hope you will visit the dock during your stay, even if it is just for a stroll or to enjoy some waterfront relaxation.
