The Perfect 3 Step Girls’ Getaway

Planning a trip to Charleston year-round is a pretty simple affair. Pack clothes for the beach and downtown, visit the beach, bring plenty of sunscreen, and pick the right places to eat out, shop, and spend your time. The hard part is choosing the right places to spend your time here. We have the whole gamut covered for the ultimate girls’ getaway on Isle of Palms, from spa days to beach days!

Beach Day

The easiest part, spending a day out on the beach! Charleston is known for its various beaches, but if you are looking for the ultimate marriage of relaxation and fun, then Isle of Palms is the beach for you!

A small beach town, downtown IOP is a collection of beach shops, fun restaurants, and lots of parking, but the beauty in IOP is just how big it is. With plenty of real estate, you can find a quiet spot to call your own or stay near all the action!

Night Out on the Town

Every day something is going on in Charleston or the surrounding areas. Whether it’s a concert on The Bend, holiday lights on James Island, or a food festival on IOP, there is always a reason to hop in the car and explore the Lowcountry.

Our favorite thing to do is head across the Ravenel Bridge to downtown and spend a night out on the town on King Street. Complete with trendy bars, upscale breweries, and five-star restaurants like Melfi’s, upper King Street is always the place to be.

Shop and Explore

Shopping and Charleston go together like peanut butter and jelly! Lower King Street is known for its upscale shops found in Charleston Place, such as Gucci and Louis Vitton, in addition to its art galleries and small shops. Tangier Outlets in North Charleston is more than happy to provide for every whim you might have if you are looking for an outlet.

Smaller beach towns like Folly Beach and Isle of Palms are home to beach and fishing outfitters, while West Ashley, James Island, and Johns Island host a wide range of small and niche experiences like Moon Shadow Pet Resort.

If you are in the mood for a spa, Isle of Palms is home to several of the best in the Lowcountry, such as Sand & Sea Spa Services or Beach House Spa! If you take a spa day on Saturday, follow it up with a Sunday Funday brunch downtown at Slightly North of Broad (SNOB) on East Bay Street!
