Co-Owner | Founder | General Manager

Steve founded East Islands Rentals in 2001 with a vision of creating a premier vacation rental management company dedicated exclusively to luxury homes on the Isle of Palms.

With degrees in Business Management, concentrating in Real Estate, and Construction Management, Steve brings a unique combination of business expertise, property management experience, and practical construction knowledge to the company.

Steve provides overall leadership and direction for East Islands Rentals, working closely with homeowners to develop rental strategies, maximize income, and protect the long-term value of their properties.

His hands-on approach, attention to detail, and commitment to building lasting homeowner relationships have been central to the company's success.

 

Darla Hood

Co-Founder | Broker-in-Charge

Darla co-founded East Islands Rentals with Steve in 2001, helping establish the company as a trusted name in luxury vacation rental management on the Isle of Palms.

What began with a small collection of luxury homes grew through personal relationships, homeowner referrals, and a commitment to exceptional service.

As Broker-in-Charge, Darla provides professional oversight and supports the company's commitment to responsible property management and lasting homeowner relationships.

 

Kristy Hayes

Assistant General Manager | Property Manager

Kristy is an integral part of the East Islands Rentals management team, playing a central role in daily operations and ensuring that homeowners and guests receive the personalized service they deserve.

Working closely with Steve and the entire team, Kristy oversees property management activities, coordinates the care and maintenance of our luxury vacation homes, and helps ensure that every property is maintained to the company's high standards.

Kristy also plays a key role in pricing strategy and revenue management, monitoring market conditions, rental demand, and booking trends to optimize rental rates, maximize occupancy, and help homeowners achieve strong rental performance.

Her extensive knowledge of our homes, attention to detail, and dedication to homeowner and guest satisfaction make her an invaluable part of East Islands Rentals.

 

Jill Evangelista

Guest Services Coordinator

Jill has been a valued member of the East Islands Rentals team since 2015, bringing years of experience and a genuine commitment to helping guests enjoy their Isle of Palms vacations.

With a background that includes hands-on experience in residential construction and remodeling, Jill brings a practical understanding of home maintenance and property care to her role.
