East Islands Rentals was founded in 2001 and continues to be a leader in Isle of Palms property management. For more than two decades, East Islands Rentals has been one of the top vacation rental and Isle of Palms property management companies in the greater Charleston region.

We know you’ll enjoy spending a splendid day on the beach! You may also enjoy shopping, biking, water activities, tennis, golf and fine dining, right here on the islands or in nearby Mt. Pleasant and historic Charleston. We’re happy to provide as much information and advice as you need about the fabulous amenities on the Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Charleston and the Lowcountry (and maybe some of our personal favorites!).

Our Team

Steve Hood Co-Owner/General Manager

In 2001, Steve founded East Islands Rentals, Inc., as the Isle of Palms' preeminent luxury property management company dedicated exclusively to high-end homes. From the beginning, the company prioritized customer service and has thrived over the years as homeowners recognize the team's dedication, including Steve's determination to maximize income while preserving assets. With degrees in both business management with a real estate concentration and construction management, he brings to the company a deep understanding of all aspects of real estate sales and professional property management.

KRISTY HAYES Assistant General Manager/Property Manager

Kristy works closely with the team to gain the intimate knowledge of all of our lovely amenity filled homes. Kristy was drawn to East Islands Rentals because of their attention to every detail for our guests and homeowners in an effort to meet their every expectation. Her other intention in coming to East Islands Rentals is to help Mary enjoy more time paddle boarding and less time at her computer.

Jill Evangelista Assistant General Manager/Property Manager

Jill has been a reservationist with East Islands Rentals since 2015. Her first job was picking up loose nails left behind by the contractors that worked for her father’s company. Later, helping her father replace roofs and interior remodeling jobs during her college summer breaks while finishing a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities.

Mary Curry Co-Owner/Broker

She is a licensed realtor with a strong background in finance, and has owned several successful companies including a bookkeeping and handyman business. Through the years, Mary has purchased and remodeled several homes, giving her a working knowledge of home maintenance and repairs.

Darla Hood Co-Owner/Broker in Charge

In 2001 Darla founded East Island Rentals with her husband Steve. The business began with just a few luxury homes, but quickly word of mouth spread and today it manages many of the top luxury properties on the island.
